Aquarium Fish Delivery and Shipment Procedures
We go the extra mile to make sure your aquarium fish is packaged and prepared for delivery properly. Our angelfish and aquarium fish hatchery was built with just that in mind. We have specialized fish tanks with optimized water quality, isolation tanks for pre-delivery fish health inspection, as well as strict procedures for prepping the aquarium fish for delivery.
Aquarium Fish Delivery Preparation
All aquarium fish will be fasted for a 24 hour period prior to shipment. We do this to clear the fish's digestive tract to prevent waist build up in the shipping container. Then the fish is given a mild sedative to help it cope with the stress of shipping.
Aquarium Fish Packaging Procedures
After 24 hours has passed, your aquarium fish will then be placed in a smaller container that holds just the right amount of water for the fish shipment bag. Once the bag is full of fish we pump pure oxygen (o2) into the water to ensure a safe environment for your aquarium fish. The bag is then placed in an appropriately sized styrofoam box which in turn is placed inside the cardboard shipping box, both of which were specifically designed for shipping live tropical aquarium fish.
Taking Delivery of Your New Fish, What's Next?
After you receive your aquarium fish shipment it is important you acclimate the aquarium fish to it's new aquarium. We have provided for your convenience step-by-step fish acclimation procedures.
